mcgannon s mind Reviews
A fun, cinematic summer read...I had the opportunity to read McGannon's Mind before it was released on the Kindle, and was more than happy to take advantage of that opportunity. McGannon's Mind reads like a cinematic techno-thriller, a hearty blend of murder mystery and modern day Frankenstein monster. While fun and cerebrally stimulating, the book will make you cringe in places. Alan Jay Glueckman holds no punches as less fortunate characters get broiled, ground, thrown around, and generally murdered in not nice ways by a monster that they created and/or threatened themselves. This is balanced out by some very human romance and clutching at survival.Bottom line, McGannon's Mind is this summer's cautionary tale to read, a chess match of brilliant minds and cold hearted logic, with more than enough thrills to keep you reading past your bedtime.
Much more competently written than most indy science fiction. Glueckman has a background as a screenwriter and it shows here. He promises a little spice, a lot of action, and some up-to-date computer tech, all of which he provides in gracious plenty. His two long-suffering police investigators are his best characters, and I hope they have a bigger role to play in the sequel that is, I hope, on the way.
An edge of your seat techno thriller, with likable intelligent characters, an intriguing premise, suspense and action, humor and even sex. A perfect beach read. I'm very proud of this book (because I wrote it).
