Midnight Heat Reviews
Midnight Heat is the second book in the Moonlight Romance series. Like the first book, Midnight Caller, this book is set in the 1800s. Allison is a young women who is still stuck in slavery….mentally and sexually. At this point in her life, she sees only one way out as she is tired of suffering at the hands of her master. She concocts a way out but unfortunately the plan was not well thought out and may even cause her to lose her life.In walks, George (who is Frederick from Book 1, younger brother). Reacting on a situation he sees out of control, he rushes in and saves her. Never once did he imagine that the woman he saves would make him fall in love. This is a beautiful yet realistic romance. It shows how with patience, we will learn to love and trust. Allison is a broken woman and as such, it is hard to trust someone after you have suffered for years no matter whether they are black or white. Your heart tells you it is okay but your mind tells you to stay away from any man.The trials this couple experiences is heartfelt. You are rooting for George because he so desperately wants Allison to allow him in her life. George was a good man and an even perfect one for Allison. Sometimes we need a good man to tear down our walls of years of abuse, neglect and hurt. Not every man will be willing to stick around and do that. When you find a man like that, you have to keep him. We need more George’s in the modern day world.-Reviewed by Lisa
A Good Read!!!I loved the anticipation of what was going to happen next. And I like that this book is related to book one which was Fredrick's love story and this one is about his little brother George and how he met his wife. I can't wait to read book 3!!
